My adventure into education began when I attended college in Maryland and completed my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education.

After completion I taught a year of fifth grade and then switched to kindergarten. I fell in love with this age level and went back to get my Masters Degree from ODU in Early Childhood.
I spent my first seven years teaching in Southampton County during which I trained as a Reading Recovery Teacher.
Then I came to Isle of Wight and taught 7 years of kindergarten at Hardy Elementary. This is the start of my 27th wonderful year in
education. Nineteen of those years were
spent teaching Kindergarten. I also spent time as Lead Teacher at CAES and Instructional Coach at WES. I have loved all my years in education but my heart is in the classroom with kids.
