We started out last week putting the finishing touches on our EXPO projects! Partners worked together to put their patterned design together! They did an amazing job! And for those of you that came to the EXPO they also did a good job talking about their projects and their writing.
WE also.... had our first Awards Ceremony.... everyone received either a JiJi Math Award or a Reading STEP AWARD.
Then we had some of our first grade friends come to visit us last week and ask us to help them with their project of collecting plastic to be recycled into the making of a bench. So please look at the items on the magnet the kids brought home to see all the types of plastic you can bring in! :) We will be collecting this until April!
Then this week we had our EXPO Monday night...
Here is a close-up of their finished projects. I can't wait to see them all on the wall in the lobby.
We also tried our hand at Native American pictographs....
And we had a very fun 50th Day of School...
WE danced ....
And counted....
And had a treat at the end of the day... yummy! Thank you to all those that donated :)

2 Months Complete!
Here we are in November! The end of the first quarter of your child's Kindergarten Year!
This week we discussed the difference between fiction and non-fiction texts.
In Math..this week...
in some groups we worked on matching sets and numerals to 10
We also practiced counting out sets using candy corn.. then of course we ate some!!
IN some groups we were working on the teen numbers ... we played a game and competed with other members of the group to see who could fill their board first
We also began talking about shapes...
On our Field Experience...
First we had a little talk to get us started thinking about farms and what they provide us :)
Then we took a hayride, so much fun!!
Then we picked out pumpkins but their favorite part was finding decomposing pumpkins that we decided were no longer living but now considered non-living.
Here we are...
Then we got to play.....
Some special visitors this week...
Our Guidance Counselor .. Mrs. Dale came to talk with us about Kindness and Conflict Resolution..
And on Friday we had a student nurse come in to talk with us about the importance of hand-washing, ask the kids to tell you about the song that they learned :)
